NBA Playoffs Game 5: (3) Philadelphia 76ers vs. (6) Miami Heat 8:00 Wells Fargo Center Philadelphia PA PHI leads series 3-1
SIXERS LOOKING TO CLOSE OUT
The 76ers face another test tonight looking to close out a playoff series against a tough veteran laden Heat team. Teams always play desperate basketball with their backs against the wall and the Heat personify that as they’re 8-2 in their last 10 elimination games.
“I have been very lucky to be involved in a lot of close out games,” said Sixers coach Brett Brown. “Although they were awhile ago, you remember them well. It’s always about the notion of playing slower, you can’t expect to win quick, you have to expect it being a physical game, you have to play the game.”
HEAT LOOK TO USE RESILIENCY
The Heat look to take it one game at a time and send it back to Miami for a Game 6. They’re a battle hardened group who have been through the wars and they’ll be looking to call on that experience in this situation.
“Things have happened in the past with different teams that you can’t use in this series,” said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. “What’s most important are the experiences that we’ve had together and the resiliency that this group has developed.”
CONTROLLING THE TEMPO
In the Sixers three wins in this series, they’ve been able to control the 4th quarter and forced the Heat to work very hard for baskets, including holding them to 14 4th quarter points in Game 3.
“We gotta control the whole game,” said point guard Ben Simmons. “They’re definitely going to want to take it back to Miami. We have to lock in. It’s going to be a tough one.”
Game 5 is upon us!
